Whether you like it or not, know it or not, you're probably dealing on a daily basis with Windows Explorer, an application designed to bring order to your desktop PC and more precisely to your virtual work area. It's not the best tool out there, but it definitely does the job. Still, what if there was something better in terms of functionality and consumed resources? UltraExplorer could very easily prove to be that enhancement you were thinking about.
Not new, just revamped
If you've got this familiar feeling when launching the app, it's most likely because you've used it before. The program is a slightly reworked version of a previously developed app. Since 2010 the project was on a halt, but likely it has been targeted for an upgrade by another developer, a great sign since the program itself is really useful.
The application allows users to conduct all sorts of basic, but important adjustment and organization tasks. Its interface is highly configurable, making it easy to tailor to everybody's needs. You can create your own hotkey combinations to reach your goal faster. Plenty of themes make sure you don't lose your style while arranging files on your machine.
Included tabs are helpful
The program allows the user to operate more than one tab within the app. This means you will enjoy greater flexibility in conducting various actions simultaneously. Functions such as Cut, Paste, Flatten, and so on are easy to reach since everything has been intuitively placed in accurately labeled menus and submenus.
Another aspect to take into consideration when attempting to replace the original Explorer app with this one, is the fact that UltraExplorer is also faster in response while also using fewer resources, hence the ultra in its name. Treeview layouts and other more proprietary components such as the "BreadCrumb" bar allow for easier navigation, regardless of whether you're heading deep into a directory or trying to reach its parent folder.
UltraExplorer is definitely an improvement over its Windows counterpart. It's faster, more flexible, and highly customizable, all great reasons to at least give it a try in your attempt to organize and improve workflow when using any PC.
